Health with Hashimoto’s - Root Cause Education for Autoimmune Thyroid Disease
Thyroid or immune. Finally sorted.
You've done the research. You still don't have a plan. The Health with Hashimoto's podcast teaches you to sort everything you know about Hashimoto's into one of two buckets: thyroid function or immune function. That's the shift. Not more information. A way to use what you've already got.
Hosted by Esther Yunkin, RN, this podcast covers what Hashimoto's actually is, why it happens, and how to work with your doctor (not against them) while you build a plan that fits a real life.
- What is Hashimoto's, and why does it happen?
- How to sort what you already know into thyroid or immune, so it finally makes sense
- Practical lifestyle strategies, without the overwhelm
- How to be the CEO of your own health
- Grounded in science. No woo, no shame, no urgency

Your skin is flaring. Your gut is a mess. And your thyroid numbers are all over the place. If you've ever noticed these three things happening at the same time, that is not a coincidence.
In this episode, Esther sits down with Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner Alissabeth Taylor to talk about why gut health, skin symptoms, and thyroid function are deeply connected in women with Hashimoto's, and what it actually takes to start addressing the root causes driving all three.
Alissabeth brings both personal experience and clinical insight to this conversation. Her own health crisis pushed her well beyond what conventional medicine could explain, and what she found on the other side shapes how she supports clients today.
In this episode, you'll learn:
Why gut issues, skin problems, and thyroid symptoms rarely happen in isolation and what connects them
How stress in all its forms, emotional, physical, chemical, and environmental, acts as a catalyst for metabolic imbalance
Why the thyroid is often responding to a deeper problem, not always the original one
What testing like GI Map, Dutch test, and HTMA can reveal that standard labs miss
Why gluten is the most common trigger Alissabeth sees in Hashimoto's and what happens when it's removed
Simple first steps you can take right now, before you even have test results
Healing is not about doing everything at once. It's about peeling back the layers. Press play to hear where to start.

Esther Yunkin, RN
Esther spent 17 years as an emergency room nurse before she got fed up with a system that hands out prescriptions for symptoms and never explains why the symptoms are happening in the first place. She went back to school, became a holistic health educator, and was later diagnosed with Hashimoto's herself.
That diagnosis is where this podcast started. Esther teaches women with Hashimoto's how to sort everything they already know into two buckets, thyroid function or immune function, so they can stop collecting information and finally know where to start. Each episode hands you one piece of that framework, explained simply enough to use right away.
Esther works with women through this podcast, her mini-course Hashimoto's Decoded, and one-on-one Discernment Coaching.
